• K-2 bridge replacement west of Kiowa to start Aug. 5
Kiowa City Council took in lots of information at their regular July 8 meeting. They hired a new police chief, accepted an early retirement from a 30-year employee, heard of major travel detours and more.
Mayor Bill Watson opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and prayer. Council members attending in person were Brian Hill, Janet Robison, B.J. Duvall and Jason Thayer. Councilmember Tom Wells joined part of the meeting by phone as he's done many times since his fall and injury. City Administrator Ty Piper sat at the council table as did City Clerk Kady Tucker.
