A firefighter received special recognition during the Alva City Council meeting Monday night. Fire Chief Bryan Miller said an Alva resident who wished to remain anonymous contacted him on July 18 wanting to recognize Firefighter Grant Taylor for his heroism and professionalism while off duty. He credited Taylor with saving the life of a two-year-old.
The caller said their granddaughter was at their residence when she ingested a dog medication that is very toxic to humans. They saw Taylor in his yard and asked him to help with their granddaughter's medical emergency. Learning what the child had...
