Broken-down equipment, too few employees and long hours have been more the norm than the exception in the City of Alva sanitation service. Currently, the city seems to have enough trucks running to keep up with the demand.

Back in April when the city was working on budgets, the Alva City Council heard a presentation from Waste Connections, the company that also operates Red Carpet Landfill at Meno where Alva hauls their trash. That was followed by a public hearing on sanitation to listen to comments from the public.
