Cherokee school activities shift into high gear

The first month of school has gone smoothly, according to administrators’ reports to the Cherokee Board of Education Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Students Stand Out at Alfalfa County Fair

Students excelled at the recent Alfalfa County Fair, said Junior High and High School Principal Lane Pruett. “We had numerous exhibit placings, with Juan Castro winning Best of Show with his bench.” The school also had numerous placings in the livestock show, including many Grands and Reserve Grands. “We also won the goat and sheep school groups,” he said. Sixteen students judged on Friday.
