Medicine Lodge Peace Treaty reenactment this weekend, Sept. 27-29

Take a deep breath, close your eyes and listen to the rustle of the tall, natural grass blowing in the wind – the way this prairie was before inhabited by the Indians and eventually the pioneers, explorers and more. Imagine buffalo roaming by cool streams of water and fighting sounds only of animals. Then you hear the thunder of horses’ hooves pounding the prairie. The rest is history.
