Alva man charged with kidnapping, assault

An Alva man is facing felony charges alleging he strangled his girlfriend and wouldn’t let her leave the house.

Keigen Robert James Crites, 20, of Alva, has been charged with kidnapping and with domestic assault and battery by strangulation, both felonies. The kidnapping charge is punishable by imprisonment for up to 20 years. The assault charge is punishable by not less than one year or more than three years imprisonment, or by a fine of $3,000 or both.
