Northwestern Oklahoma State University held its annual Ranger Royalty Banquet Wednesday following the first round of voting for king and queen candidates. The Student Government Association (SGA) officers announced this year's Freshman Queen – Brenda Lezama of Turpin – and named the six final candidates for Ranger King and Ranger Queen.
Lezama is a business major who enjoys being involved with the NWOSU cheer team, Hispanic American Leadership Organization (HALO) and NWOSU Baptist Collegiate Ministries. She is the daughter of Miguel and Brisa Lezama. She is sponsored by HALO.
