The Alva Ladybugs defeated Davis twice to win the 3A regional playoffs held in Alva Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
In the first round on Monday, Sept. 30, the Ladybugs beat Davis 11-0 in five innings. Pitcher Jaycee Kelln struck out 10 and completed a no-hitter. With the win, the Ladybugs season record increased to 18-8.
After Davis beat Community Christian 3-0 on Monday, they again faced the Ladybugs on Tuesday. The Alva girls hit seven home runs, and Kelln threw a perfect no-hitter. With a 19-8 record, the Ladybugs will play in the 3A Super Regionals next week at a time and place to be announced....
