Medicine Lodge Peace Treaty in photos

In 1917 the citizens of Medicine Lodge made the initial effort to commemorate the historical significance of the Treaty of Medicine Lodge. The document was signed in 1867 by the Peace Commission of the United States Government and the five tribes of Plains Indians: the Kiowa, Comanche, Kiowa-Apache, Arapaho and Cheyenne.

Held about every three years, the small Kansas town of Medicine Lodge holds a huge weekend to commemorate the signing of the Peace Treaty. Our friends at Wehby Digital in Kiowa took some great action shots and agreed to share with us for your viewing pleasure.
