The Chocolate Fantasy held Nov. 14 by the Friends of the Alva Public Library raised at least $11,332. Library Director Angela Courson said the final total may be more because they are still accepting donations. Last year, the event raised $8,600.
Courson told the library board members Monday that 91 chocolate items were donated for the auction this year, up 20 from last year. She said the larger number of items allowed bidding by people who didn't have as much to spend. The average of all items was $119 each, but some went for only $40.
