A combination of outstanding players on the Beggs team and a stomach bug that hit the Goldbugs spelled the end of playoff hopes for Alva last Friday. The Golden Demons scored on their possession of the football and continued to dominate the game, leading 36-0 at halftime and finishing with a 43-0 victory. Played at Ranger Field in Alva, the game ended the Goldbugs' season on a record of 8-3. Beggs advanced to play Vian tonight in the Class 2A-II quarterfinals.
