• No election needed
Only one candidate filed for each of the school boards in Woods County so no election will be needed. The filing period closed at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Woods County Election Board reported incumbent Paul Barton was the only candidate filing for Office 5 of the Alva Board of Education. At Freedom, Shane Morris, the incumbent, was the only person filing for Office 5. Garrett Gum, the incumbent was the only candidate filing for the Waynoka School Board.
Stanley Kline of Alva will continue to serve on the Northwest Technology Center board representing Zone 5.
Two Races in Alfalfa County
Cherokee Board of Education drew two candidates for the full term opening in Office 5. Paul Michael and Amber K. Wilhite filed for that position with the winner to be decided in the April 1 election.
Chisholm School District covers a portion of Alfalfa County. Voters in that area will have a choice of Chris Occhiuzzo and Geri Ayers for the Chisholm School Board.
The unexpired four year term for Office 4 on the Cherokee board will be filled by Allan Poe, the only candidate filing.
The position on the Aline-Cleo School Board will be filled by Christyn O’Neil. The only candidate for the Burlington School Board is Callie Pray. Timberlake School Board’s Office 5 will be filled by Levi Johnson.
Other portions of Alfalfa County are included in the Medford, Ringwood and Northwest Technology districts. Medford had one filing: Alyssa Hale-Morgan. Ringwood’s board opening will be filled by Jeff Berger. For Alva, incumbent Paul Barton will continue on the board. And Stanley Kline will still fill the Zone 5 seat on the Northwest Tech board.
