“This was a really tough decision. I didn’t want to do this, but I was at the point I didn’t want to get in any deeper spending more county money when there isn’t any way to win anything,” said Woods County Assessor Renetta Benson Monday morning. She was speaking to the Woods County Tax Roll Correction Board about the county’s agreement to settle five years of tax protests (2020-2024) with Targa Pipeline Mid-Con West OK. Benson was referring to fees paid by the county to a consulting firm and attorneys.
