The Perry Maroons came within three points of the Alva Goldbug lead, but they were never able to pull ahead. The Goldbugs won the Friday night home game 59-42.
Alva led 21-10 at the end of the first quarter, but both teams went cold at the basket in the second. The Maroons scored eight points while Alva had seven. The Goldbugs still retained a 28-18 margin at halftime.
The Alva lead was widened in the third quarter as the Goldbugs scored 16 points to 13 for Perry. The Maroons didn't slacken their efforts, but Alva kept a comfortable point spread in the final quarter for the 59-42 win.
