The Alva Ladybugs hosted Perry last Friday, Dec. 20, and came away with a 78-72 victory. The Lady Maroons didn't make it easy. Although Alva led most of the game, the Lady Maroons kept that lead from being comfortable and tied the score several times.
The Ladybugs jumped out to a 7-0 run in the first quarter, but Perry fought back to a 16-16 tie. That's when Kylie Adair stuck a three to give Alva a 19-16 lead at the end of the period. The Lady Maroons outscored the Ladybugs in the second quarter, but Alva still had a one-point lead of 37-36 going into halftime.
