Over the holiday break, the Alva Ladybugs increased their record to 8-2, winning the consolation trophy at the Mustang Holiday Classic. The Ladybugs lost to Bixby in the first round 49-42 but defeated Owasso on Friday 45-39. In the Saturday finals, the Ladybugs defeated the Allen Mustangs 49-34.
Tonight, Jan. 3, Alva High School Basketball will host the Blackwell Maroons. The girls’ tipoff will be at 6:30 p.m. followed by the boys’ contest.
