Commissioner John Smiley opened the Woods County commissioners' meeting Monday morning. The first order of business was to elect new officers. Smiley immediately nominated Commissioner Shane Vore for that office. Vore then nominated Smiley to serve as vice chairman. Both were elected by unanimous vote. District 1 Foreman Damian Starks filled in for Commissioner David Hamil at the meeting.
Vore took charge of the meeting, and the minutes of the Dec. 30 meeting were approved.
