The Hadas made it back to Alva last Friday

We could not attend the pow wow because of family reunions and Alva stuff. Phil said it was a good pow wow with a lot of attendees. It was a short visit to Alva because they had been out nearly a month and Phil was missing his trees and plants, so they left Sunday about noon after visiting Jo Ann Cole at the rest home. Friend Barbara Faulkner went with Karee to the Nescatunga Arts Festival on Saturday morning and both had a good time in spite of the rain. I did not attend, but every time I drove by there was a good crowd.

Phil is an amazing guy. He is in his 80s and herds a super long motor home around like it was a Volkswagen. I took Phil for a tour around town and he was amazed at all the building going on. It had been a while since Cleo and Karee had some quality time, so it was great to see them. The quilt retreat usually held in March at Vegas was rescheduled for the last of July, so if everyone is healthy, another Karee fix is in Cleo's future. It is also fun to see the quilter friends Cleo has made out west when we are there.

This year is our 50th anniversary of wedded bliss. We may be out west when the day comes, but it will seem like only yesterday when I felt the shotguns in my back and my future father-in-law whispered “'I do' are the correct words for your continued good health.”

Jaylyn was at Bible Bapist summer camp this last week at Black Mesa in the panhandle. Hopefully all had a great time and several young people came to the Lord this year. There are many church camps being held this summer. Some are more costly than others, but all have one theme: Bring as many young people to the lord as possible. Amen!

The best bargain I have heard about is at the Town and Country Church: free church camp. Part of it is over, but contact Paul Cole at 327-0811 to see if you can still go. Thanks to all the people that make summer camps possible.

Last Tuesday evening Justin's dog went to the door and went nuts barking. Justin shoved the dog into my room and said to call the police. I thought he was talking to his Mom, so didn't call. When I finally got out of my room he told me two large brown dogs were on the porch chasing the cats and had run off with one of them in his mouth. Justin said he trailed them nearly to the salvage before losing them. I drove around a bit looking for them and the cat. I never found the cat but did the dogs. In my rush I forgot my gun, so all I could do was watch them. The policeman I talked to said this was not the first time these dogs were on the radar. What if instead of my cat these killers would have attracted and killed a small child? If you cannot keep these two big brown dogs contained, please let me know your address. When I find them I will take particular delight in putting the carcasses of these killers on your porch. They were back Thursday on the porch again but Josh got them run off before any problems.
