OBU Track Meets Two Provisional Marks at Emporia

 


EMPORIA, Kan. – (Results) Oklahoma Baptist met two provisional marks Saturday at the Sam Williams Twilight Qualifier, hosted by Emporia State at Francis G. Welch Stadium.

The Bison and Lady Bison each met one NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark in the final meet of the regular season.

McKae Mitchell won the 400-meter run in a provisional qualifying time of 55.71 seconds. Sherine Van Der Westhuizen finished third in 59.17 seconds.

JoziRose Mayfield took third place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.05.

Saleem Fadel finished fourth in the hammer throw, meeting a provisional mark at 190' 5" (58.04 meters).

Cayden Spain was eighth in the 400-meter hurdles in 55.99 seconds.

A 4x400-meter relay team that included Carlos James, Shirvante Knauls, Sayvon Milton and Dillon Phillips was disqualified.

OBU will await the release of the field for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championship, set to begin May 24.
