Trial set for ex-Wichita YMCA employee accused of rape

 


WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A former employee of the Wichita YMCA who is accused of sexually assaulting two young girls at the Kansas center will go to trial this summer.

Caleb Gaston waived his preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty on Thursday. He's accused of sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl and a 4-year-old girl in January.

His trial is scheduled to start on July 23.

The alleged assaults happened in the Kid Zone at the downtown YMCA branch. Gaston was a part-time YMCA employee for five years before he was arrested on Jan. 31, after a woman reported her daughter had been molested.
