LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 6, 2016) – Oklahoma Baptist was a top 50 NCAA Division II Academic Softball team with six Scholar Athletes, the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association announced Thursday.

OBU carried a team grade point average of 3.352 for the season and ranked 47th in NCAA Division II.

Additionally, current pitchers McKenzie Jones and Haylee Zimmerman were named Scholar Athletes. Jones is a senior pre-counseling major from Midwest City. Zimmerman is a sophomore sports and recreation major from Rogers, Arkansas.

Additionally, former Lady Bison Shalee Cordell, Caitlin Hall, Hannah Morris and Corbi Parasich were honored as Scholar Athletes.
