'Twas the day before Halloween, and all through Kiowa, Kansas, streets something was stirring – let's go take a peek.

The downtown sidewalk area is full of drawn pumpkin shapes awaiting youngsters to use sidewalk chalk (that will be provided) to give them personality. Some will be playing Pumpkin Tic Tac Toe. Others will be bobbing for apples. Don't miss out on the Pumpkin Roll with little pumpkins.

Kiowa's Chamber of Commerce decided to bring back Fall Fest this year after years of retirement. Sunday afternoon, Oct. 30, several businesses will open at 1 p.m., and all the fun games start at 1:30 p.m.

Before coming to Fall Fest, carve and/or decorate your own pumpkin to enter in the Pumpkin Contest that begins at 2:30 p.m.

A few groups will be selling yummy foods like bratwurst with kraut if you like, hot cider and more.

Kids will love the FREE MOVIE, “Hotel Transylvania,” that begins at 3:30 p.m. When the movie is over and the pumpkins are gone, all the children will turn their focus to their Halloween costumes for the school parade on Monday afternoon.
