Alva woman charged in drug buy

An Alva woman is faced with a felony drug charge following a controlled drug buy. Carey Ann Crawford, 41, of Alva has been charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance (oxycodone) within 2,000 feet of a public housing project. The crime is punishable for four years to life and a fine of up to $40,000.

According to court papers, on March 11 Woods County Undersheriff Keith Dale worked with a confidential informant (CI) to set up a drug purchase. Deputy Bill Barnum searched the CI for illegal substances, money or weapons before Dale equipped the CI with a listening/recording devi...
