Oklahoma seeks 18th straight win over Iowa State

November 3, 2016

No. 12 Oklahoma (6-2, 5-0 Big 12) at Iowa State (1-7, 0-5), 7:30 p.m. (ESPN).

Line: Oklahoma by 21

Series Record: Oklahoma leads 73-5-2.

WHAT'S AT STAKE

Oklahoma is likely out of the playoff race. But the Sooners have a clear path to the Big 12 title unless they fall to the Cyclones, something they haven't done since 1990. Iowa State is all about the future right now, and an upset on national TV would be an enormous boost for the program.

KEY MATCHUP

Oklahoma WR Dede Westbrook vs. Iowa State's pass defense. The Cyclones secondary is actually quite talented. But can they stop Westbrook? Probably not. Westbrook has caught 11 touchdown passes in his last five games, a school record.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Oklahoma: RB Abdul Adams. With Samaje Perine and the suspended Joe Mixon expected to miss Thursday's game, Adams will likely be the lead back for the Sooners. Adams, a freshman, had 91 yards on 13 carries against woeful Kansas last week.

Iowa State: RB Mike Warren. The Lawton, Oklahoma, native who blossomed well after the Sooners had signed the highly-touted Mixon is as talented as any back in the Big 12. The Cyclones will look to keep the Sooners offense off the field, and that might be possible if they can get Warren going.
