SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist sophomore Isaiah Mallory established a single season rushing record as the Bison closed out the season with a 20-10 loss to Southern Nazarene Saturday.

Mallory, slowed by injury, needed just 11 yards to break Jordan Barnes' 2014 total of 1,028, and he got that on his first carry of the game, going 13 yards. Mallory finished with 66 yards in the game and 1,083 for the season.

Trey Tully got his second field goal of the season from 27 yards out to make it a 7-3 game in the first quarter and Mallory scored on a 265-yard run in the second quarter to pull the Bison to within 14-10.

Dez Stegall passed for 192 yards in the game, completing 17 passes. He ended his record-breaking season with 188 completions, 2,255 passing yards and 19 touchdowns.

Josh Pettijohn led the Bison receivers Saturday with five catches for 61 yards.

Levi Jennings had a dozen tackles, including a sack and two tackles for loss to finish the year with 96 tackles. Brynden Pitzer had three tackles for loss among his 11 tackles Saturday and he forced two fumbles.

Gage Wimer and Ed Morgan Jr. shared a sack and JyWayne Allen blocked a field goal attempt.

Southern Nazarene fumbled three times but was able to recover all three and didn't turn the ball over in the game.

"We needed the ball to bounce our way a little bit," said OBU Coach Chris Jensen." It was a bad way for our seniors to go out. They came here for a chance to play college football. They had that opportunity. I haven't had any of them come in and complain about the position they've been in."

The game was the last for 16 seniors, who were recognized before the game. Those included Douglas Alexander, Allen, Sha'hada Artberry, Bo Bradshaw, Dillon Burley, Zach Clark, Erik Derrow, Jennings, D'Ante Meeking, Michael Miears, Morgan, Dawson Myers, Pitzer, Phillip Spess, Charles Taylor III, Wimer and student assistant coaches Christian Doty and Ty Chlouber.

"The four-year record does not define these guys," Jensen said. "I'm so proud of these guys. "They just worked their tails off."
