In her third year at the helm of the Alva Middle School Ladybugs' basketball program, Margo Hamilton is working to end the 2016-2017 season strong.

Eighth-Grade Girls

The eighth-grade Ladybugs have another year of experience under the belt in preparation for the high school level, and they are working to end their season strong.

There have been some struggles for this young group in taking care of the ball, but their aggression keeps them competitive.

Rianna Clark is the only Ladybug to average in double-digits for the Ladybugs as her competitiveness makes her aggressive in attacking the basket in transition as well as in fighting for loose boards for second-chance points.

Two other big contributors for the Ladybugs has been point-guard Aimee Chapman and Delaney Lambert, who has improved from last season with the elbow jumper.

Other contributors are the quick Sandra Fragosa, whose defense has led to forced turnovers for the Ladybugs, Hannah Mason and Kailey Gouker.

Seventh-Grade Girls

This year, the seventh-grade Ladybugs focus on developing and gathering experience as the season winds down.

Chloe Durkee and Jaymee Meyer have been big contributors on scoring for the Ladybugs, with Durkee using her strength and quickness to go after loose balls.

Another contributor is point-guard Mason Bogdanovecz, whose speed and quickness has proved invaluable on both sides of the ball.

The Ladybugs have back-to-back tournaments coming up as the seventh-grade girls compete in the Chisholm Tournament Jan. 19 and 21 before seventh and eighth grades travel to Blackwell for another tournament.

Alva ends their season at home as they host Blackwell on Feb. 9 with tip off scheduled for 4 p.m.
