Lady Tigers edged out by Southeastern 66-63

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Lady Tigers overcame an 11-point deficit in the fourth-quarter to within one, but could not grab the lead as they lost for only the fourth time this season in Bill Vining Arena. The Lady Tigers fell to Southeastern Oklahoma State by a final of 66-63. Alivia Huell led the Lady Tigers with 16 points and a game-high three blocked shots. Taylor Bowles finished with 15 and Chasidee Owens added 11.

Ouachita was down by 11 with 6:45 remaining in the game. The Lady Tigers went on a 9-0 run with 4:12 left to play. Kori Bullard knocked down a jumper and followed with a three on the next possession. Huell converted a layup off a pass from Madison Brittain after Brittain got the steal. Huell capped off the run with a pair of free throws to bring the Lady Tigers within one, trailing 61-60 with 1:40 left to play. Southeastern extended the lead to three. Huell got a steal and took the ball to the rim to bring Ouachita within one again. Down 64-63 with 48 seconds to play, a turnover by Ouachita led to free throws by Southeastern. They converted two of their final four free-throw attempts to get the 66-63 win.


The Lady Tigers travel to Searcy, Ark. next Thursday, Feb.9 to face Harding. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
