On Feb. 21 at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, the Burlington vocal students performed in the district contest. They did an outstanding job; many are advancing to state.

Two ensembles, a men's quartet, and a soloist all received a rating of 1.

The High School Mixed Ensemble performed "Sing a Song of Merry Christmas." The ensemble consisted of Rebecca Bonham, Emily Burnet, Hailey Dotson, Lauren Lagos, Marshall Burnet, Gabe Stewart, Jonathan Armbruster, Brenner Clark, Abi Trujillo, Anna Motycka, Kelsi Smith, and Liberty Bird.

The High School Girls Ensemble performed "All the Pretty Little Horses." The ensemble consisted of Rebecca Bonham, Hailey Dotson, Lauren Lagos, Emily Burnet, Jaden Allen, Kelsi Smith, Liberty Bird, Caitlin Flackman, Jazmine Vest and Abi Trujillo.

The High School Men's Quartet performed "Ghost Ship." The quartet was comprised of Marshall Burnet, Gabe Stewart, Brenner Clark and Jonathan Armbruster.

Liberty Bird performed a solo of "Nine Hundred Miles." This was sung beautifully and received the rating of 1.

Other soloist who participated were Brenner Clark, Gabe Stewart, Marshall Burnet and Emily Burnet. These soloist also did a fantastic job and received a rating of 2.

Burlington Junior High School Mixed Ensemble

Not only did the high school perform, but the junior high also had a soloist and a mixed ensemble.

Kayli Stewart was the only junior high soloist and sang "The Water is Wide."

The junior high ensemble, which included Caleb Cox, Gaitlin Jewell, Nancy Klippenstein, Karly Heatherman, Kayla Highfill, Rory Olson, Jackson Feely, Kade Wright, Silvery Kiwia, Makayla McCullough, McKenzie Olson, Kayli Stewart, Alyssa Russel, Savannah Granados, received a rating of 2.

There was also an instrumental solo that was performed by Alyssa Russel. She received a rating of 1.
