SAN ANTONIO (March 18, 2017) – St. Mary's (Texas) completed a three-game series sweep of Oklahoma Christian with a 4-1 win on Saturday afternoon at Dickson Stadium.

St. Mary's (12-11, 6-0 Heartland Conference) didn't do much offensively in any inning, but had single runs in the second, fourth, sixth and seventh to build a 4-0 lead and a late rally by OC (13-14, 1-5) fell short during a game in which the Eagles stranded 12 baserunners.

Jake Kaiser went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in the second inning off OC starter Jake Collins (0-1) that put the Rattlers ahead 1-0. Kaiser also scored after his fourth-inning double, on a groundout by Zach Johnson. Johnson's RBI double in the sixth scored Jacob Aguilar to make it 3-0.

James Gilleen went 3-for-4 for the Rattlers, including a leadoff triple in the seventh, and he scored on a sacrifice fly by Beau Barnes.

St. Mary's starter Hayden Hilber (2-1) allowed seven hits but no runs in five innings. OC had some success against reliever Mason Minister in the eighth inning. With two outs, Zac Bycko walked and pinch-runner Jared Price went to third base when Jake Baxter reached on an error. Kolton Brown's single through the right side scored Price, capping a 3-for-4 outing for Brown.

St. Mary's closer Trent Rousseau entered the game and struck out Garrett Wages to end the inning, then allowed only one baserunner in the ninth to record his fifth save of the baseball season and his second of the series.

Hayden Strobel also went 3-for-4 at the plate for the Eagles.

OC will wrap up a six-game road stretch with a nonconference game on Tuesday at Southeastern Oklahoma State.
