In his book “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten,” Robert Fulghum writes that every year he spends a week in Weiser, Idaho, a town of about 4,000 people, and the home of the Grand National Old-Time Fiddlers’ Contest.
On the last week in June, people descend on that small town from everywhere: Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and some people come as far away as Japan. They come to play and sing and have a good time. One time long-haired hippies began to show up. People with tatoos and leather jackets came on motorcycles. Some of these strange-looking people were wonderful fiddlers.
