Alva woman charged with larceny

An Alva woman is facing a larceny charge after a trip to a local store. Jennifer O. Hawkins, 40, of Alva is charged with larceny of merchandise from a retailer, a misdemeanor. This crime is punishable by imprisonment in the county jail for a term not exceeding 30 days and by a fine of not less than $10 nor more than $500.

Information filed in the case shows Alva Police Officer Brian File responded to a call from a manager at Walmart. The manager said Hawkins was skipping items on a scanner at a self-checkout, paid for only two of the 15 items in her bag and then walked out the door. At that po...
