Oklahoma city receives first sales tax check from Amazon

 


EDMOND, Okla. (AP) — A city in central Oklahoma has received its sales tax collection check for May, which includes funds remitted by Amazon.

The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/2pCbXS2 ) reports that this is the first time Edmond has received such funds since the company began collecting sales tax from the state's customers in March.

The city's finance director Warren Porter says the city is on track to receive 600,000 over the next fiscal year from the online company.
