Seventh-Inning Runs Lift No. 2 Harding over No. 6 Minnesota State; Forces Third Game

 


SEARCY – No. 2 Harding scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning, defeated No. 6 Minnesota State 4-3 and forced a deciding game in the best-of-three NCAA Division II Central Super Regional. The loss snapped Minnesota State's 28-game winning streak.

Harding (58-8) trailed 3-2 entering the seventh. Amanda Berdon led off the inning with a single to right center and moved to second on a wild pitch. Mackenzie Jones pushed her to third base with a sacrifice bunt. One out later, pinch hitter Lindsey Duncan singled up the middle to score Berdon with the tying run.
