Officers, Lessons

Carol Anderson made the motion for the following slate of officers to be considered: president – Carolyn Gasaway, vice president – Evelyn Kramp, secretary – Nicki Chaffee, treasurer – Eleanor Ring. Seconded by Chaffee. The vote was unanimous.

Chaffee presented the lesson. She opened by presenting the group with a question: “If you had no other resources available could you live on only MIO (Made In Oklahoma) products?” Since we have divine water, meats, grains, pastries, jellies and even paper products it was decided we could do it. The history of MIO was discussed as well as all the available resources to start a business.

Schubert presented a mini lesson on the meaning of the emblem of Oklahoma and how the name is derived from “Red People.” Gasaway presented a mini lesson on the song “God Bless America,” sang by Kate Smith, to enhance patriotism.

Deserts of chocolate cake and strawberry cake provided by co hostess Sandra Schubert were served to members Carol Anderson, Nicki Chaffee, Carolyn Gassaway, Lola Heaton, Eleanor Ring and guest Barbara Faulkner.
