Women's Soccer Falls to Southwestern Oklahoma Saturday

SEARCY – The Harding women's soccer team fell 6-1 to Southwestern Oklahoma Saturday in Great American Conference action.

Harding falls to 5-8-3 overall and 4-5-1 in the GAC

Southwestern Oklahoma improves to 9-3-3 overall and 6-1-3 in the GAC.

After the game, Harding recognized seniors Rachel Bacon, Emma Chilton, Samantha Jay, Carley Stevens and Morgan Springborn for their contributions to the women's soccer program.

GOALS

Southwestern Okla. 1, Harding 0 – 16th minute – Sandra Nabweteme found the back of the net off a free kick from 40-yards out.

Southwestern Okla. 2, Harding 0 – 37th minute – Alimata Rabo dribbled down the left side and shot from the top of the box.

Southwestern Okla. 2, Harding 1 – 47th minute – Bethany Sutherland converted a penalty kick for Harding. It was her 13th goal of the season.

Southwestern Okla. 3, Harding 1 – 48th minute – Alimata Rabo dribbled down the middle of the field and beat the keeper one-on-one.


Southwestern Okla. 4, Harding 1 – 53rd minute – Sandra Nabweteme found Alimata Rabo for third goal of the game.

Southwestern Okla. 5, Harding 1 – 71st minute – Kirstyn Eustace sent a long pass down the right side to Alimata Rabo who scored her fourth goal of the game.

Southwestern Okla. 6, Harding 1 – 80th minute – Lauren Williams sent a long free kick to Jasmine Heffley who chipped it over the goalkeeper for her first goal of the season.

STATS

Harding took 15 shots in the game, eight were on goal.

Southwestern Oklahoma had 14 shots, 10 were on goal.

Harding will travel to Ouachita Baptist Tuesday in GAC for a 3 p.m., kickoff.
