Harding Men's Soccer Falls 2-1 in Double Overtime at Ouachita Baptist

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ouachita Baptist ended Harding's hopes of an undefeated Great American Conference men's soccer season with a 2-1 victory over the Bisons in double overtime Tuesday.

Harding scored the initial goal in the 84th minute on a Julio Martins penalty kick, but Ouachita answered less than four minutes later with a goal by Joey Zerbo.

In the second overtime, Ouachita's Tinashe Chigede scored the game-winner on a penalty kick with under two minutes remaining.

Harding dropped to 7-5-2 overall with the loss and ends its conference season as the GAC champions at 5-1-0. Ouachita improved to 6-7-0 overall and 4-2-0 in conference, finishing second.

Harding will host the GAC Tournament on Nov. 3-5 at Stevens Soccer Field. The Bisons have two more non-conference games remaining before taking on Southern Nazarene in the GAC Tournament semifinals. Harding hosts Christian Brothers Thursday at 6 p.m. and travels to Jackson, Tennessee, to take on Union Saturday, Oct. 28.
