Volleyball Ends Regular Season with Sweep of UAM

MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Harding volleyball team swept Arkansas-Monticello 3-0 (25-23, 25-13, 25-15) Thursday in Great American Conference action. It was the Lady Bisons' final regular season match.
The Lady Bisons will be the No. 2 seed in the GAC Tournament November 16-18 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. They will play at 2:30 p.m., Thursday against either Southeastern Oklahoma or Southwestern Oklahoma.
Harding improved to 25-5 overall and 13-2 in the GAC.
Arkansas-Monticello fell to 10-22 overall and 2-14 in the GAC.
FIRST SET
Trailing 4-3 in the first set, Harding went on a 10-4 run to lead 13-8. Arkansas-Monticello battled back and pulled within one, 19-18, then tied the set at 22 on a kill by Maggie Pyles. Harding scored the next two points to lead 24-22. After a Blossom point, Taylor Mounts had a kill to give the Lady Bisons the set 25-23. Harding had 20 kills in the set.
SECOND SET
Harding jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the second set and then closed the set on a 7-0 run to win 25-13. The Lady Bisons had four kills during its final run, three by Zoe Hardin. Harding hit .433 in the set and held the Blossoms to .081.
THIRD SET
Trailing 10-9 in the third set, Harding went on an 8-3 run to lead 17-13. The Lady Bisons allowed Arkansas-Monticello to score two more points the rest of the way and Harding won 25-15.

Harding
- Harding was led by Zoe Hardin who had 15 kills and hit .667 with two blocks. Emma Reeves added 10 kills for the Lady Bisons.
- Rachel Heussner had 42 assists.
- Madison Poen led the defense with 17 digs and three service aces. Taylor Lake had 16 digs and Selena Foster had 11.
Arkansas-Monticello
- Arkansas-Monticello was led by Maggie Pyles with 11 kills.
- Macy Mitchell led the defense with 17 digs.
