Freedom School Board hears money talk

Superintendent James Miller spent quite a bit of time Monday night telling members of the Freedom Board of Education of his concerns about what the special session of the legislature might do their district. He is worried about HB1578, which has turned into a "study."
He explained that most schools in northwest Oklahoma are self-supporting with in-place taxes and do not have to be part of the state funding formula. He said, "We only receive state transportation dollars" because of the long bus routes. Miller said that when the state "monkeys" with the gross production tax, that affects Freedom...
