Alva Middle students perform well at scholastic competition

Alva Middle School students won big at the Chamberlain Middle School Scholastic competition at Fairview on Oct. 24. All students placing in the top three qualify for the Tournament of Champions Academic Competition to be held in April 2018.

6th Grade

Cristin Bosch – 3rd in Current Events, 11th in Humanities

Cameron Longhurst – 5th in Social Studies, 8th in Science

Bo Stewart – 5th in Math, 20th in Current Events

Tobin Pulver – 6th in Science, 17th in Math

Carly Argo – 6th in Language Arts

Damian Dirden – 13th in Social Studies

7th Grade

Laura Anton – 1st in Humanities, 1st in Language Arts

Alaina Pierce – 2nd in Science

Ethan Vaughan – 5th in Current Events, 10th in Social Studies

Norah Scarbrough – 8th in Math

Julius Cardonita – 9th in Humanities

Cynthia Samaniego – 10th in Social Studies, 11th in Language Arts

Ethan Ruhl – 12th in Math

Elayna Warrington – 12th in Current Events

8th Grade

Kelton O'Neil – 1st place Social Studies, 5th in Current Events


Colby Mackey – 2nd Current Events

Gabriel Hoover – 3rd in Science

Lyndsie Vickers – 7th in Humanities, 8th in Science
