BIXBY, Okla. (AP) — An Oklahoma school board says it is "close" to determining what action to take on a criminal case that accuses school administrators of failing to promptly report the sexual assault of a 16-year-old football player by several of his teammates.

The Bixby school board met in executive session for more than seven hours Thursday night and into Friday morning then released a statement saying it will announce the week of Dec. 18 how the September incident will be addressed. The board also pledged to "hold individuals accountable for their actions."
