PURCELL - Purcell is turning to one of its former stars to lead the football program in hope of some continuity.

The school is expected to name Purcell graduate and current Alva athletic director Steve Gale. The Dragons' new football coach Friday morning during a special board meeting.

Gale replaces John Higbee and will be Purcell's sixth coach in seven years.
