PERKINS, Okla. – The Alva Goldbugs won their first regional game in two seasons on Friday as they recorded an 82-53 victory over Newkirk in the first round of the regional consolation bracket.

After their district loss to Chisholm, it became survive and advance the rest of the way out. They survived for a second straight game on Saturday, battling back from an early deficit to knock off Oklahoma Christian School, 62-49.

The Bugs (14-12) will move on to the regional consolation championship game on Monday at Perkins-Tryon High School against the loser between Perry and Chisholm. Tipoff will be...
