RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league's second Athlete of the Week awards for the men's outdoor track & field season. Southern Arkansas' Karonce Higgins captured the Track Athlete of the Week accolade and Harding's Cameron Bienzearned the Field Athlete of the Week award.

GAC MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Karonce Higgins, Southern Arkansas, Jr., Searcy, Arkansas

One week after claiming the GAC Field Athlete of the Week award, Higgins showed his versatility as he dominated on the track in his hometown at the Harding Invitational. He claimed the individual titles in the 100- and 200-meter events, while also running the anchor leg of the winning 4x100 relay team and the third leg on the 4x400 squad that also placed first.

GAC MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Cameron Bienz, Harding, Sr., Decatur, Indiana

Bienz placed second in the high jump at the Harding Invitational, clearing 2.05 meters. The jump represented an NCAA provisional mark, the highest clearance in the GAC this season and the 12th-best mark in Division II this spring. He set a personal best with the jump and he broke the school's NCAA-era record in the event.

NOTABLE MEN'S TRACK NOMINEES

- James Bowie, Jr., Harding (Won both hurdles events at Harding Invitational; ran GAC's third-fastest times in both events)

- Larry Filer, Jr., East Central (Took first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Bobby Lane Invitational with a time a 9:51.8)

- Austin Kruzich, Sr., Oklahoma Christian (Posted fastest 200 time this year by an OC runner, 22.27; ran the 100 in 11.00 seconds)

NOTABLE MEN'S FIELD NOMINEES

- Dilland Gardner, Jr., East Central (Placed sixth in the discus and 10th in the shot put at the Bobby Lane Invitational)

- Sinclair Pitts, Jr., Southern Arkansas (Won the shot put and took second in the hammer and discus at the Harding Invitational)
