Weevils Baseball falls to Delta State in Cleveland

 


CLEVELAND, Miss. — The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team was taken down by No. 5 Delta State Tuesday afternoon, by a final score of 19-9.

UAM falls to 23-9 on the year.

DSU improves to 25-6 this season.

HOW UAM SCORED

2nd Inning: Borman singled to left field to get UAM on the board first, leading 1-0.


3rd Inning: Ray doubled to right center to bring home Dodd as the Weevils trailed 3-2.

3rd Inning: Sean Wagner singled to left center, scoring Ray to tie up the game at 3-3.

3rd Inning: Rios gave UAM the lead with a two-run home run to left field for the 5-3 advantage.

5th Inning: Ray then homered to right field as the Weevils were down 8-6.

5th Inning: Rowton added a two-run double to tie up the game once again at 8-8.

5th Inning: Borman gave UAM the lead with a RBI single to right field to see Rowton cross the plate.

However the Statesmen went on to out score the Weevils and take the non-conference match-up at 19-9 by the final out.

UP NEXT

UAM will next take on GAC opponent Ouachita Baptist on the road in Arkadelphia, Arkansas this weekend in a three-game series. Game one is slated for Friday, April 6 at 2:00 p.m.
