Alva woman dies in backing accident

An Alva woman died Tuesday from injuries received when a stock trailer backed over her. Mamie Ellen Hada, 62, was taken to Share Medical Center by Alva EMS where she was pronounced dead from arm, leg, trunk internal and trunk external injuries.

The accident occurred at approximately 8 a.m. Tuesday on LeFlore Road, 100 feet west of County Road 370. The location is approximately six miles west and eight miles north of Alva.

Allen Neil Hada, 67, of Alva was driving a 2001 Chevrolet pickup pulling a stock trailer. They were loading cattle when a calf got loose and ran west on LeFlore Road. Allen Hada drove west on LeFlore to catch the calf. To push the calf back to the pens, he started backing. He could not see Mamie Hada due to the trailer and backed into her. She fell and was backed over by the stock trailer.

Trooper Randy McCullough invested assisted by Woods County Sheriff’s Department and the Alva EMS.
