Four Lady Bison Headed to Championships

 


SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist will compete in two events at the 2018 NCAA Division II Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships later this week.

Four athletes will compete at the championships in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Irwin Belk Complex. Johnson C. Smith University will serve as the host of the championships.

McKae Mitchell, JoziRose Mayfield, Breanna Hurlbut and Sherine Van Der Westhuizen were selected for the 4x400-meter relay. The group had the No. 8 time in the nation at 3:42.03. Mitchell, Mayfield and Van Der Westhuizen earned All-America status in the same event at the indoor championships this season.

Mitchell will also compete in the 800-meter run after finishing the season with the 24th-fastest time in the event in 55.14 seconds.

The meet will start on May 24 and wrap up May 26.
