Commissioners vote on vendor for new 911 system

The commissioners of Alfalfa County met for their weekly regular meeting on Monday and kicked off with their usual routine invocation and flag salute.

They reviewed and approved the minutes from their meeting last week after determining there was no public discussion to be had.

M & O warrants for payment, blanket purchase orders, and road crossing permits were approved. The latter was for one permit in District 3.

Awards for six-month bids were tabled pending further review.

The “Officers FY 2018-2019 Estimate of Needs requested” was approved as well as the temporary appropriations (effective July 1 for FY 2018-2019 represented by 50 percent of actual approved FY 2017-2018 budget).

The contract for services between County Budgeting Services LLC and Alfalfa County was another agenda item approved by all three commissioners.

On the matter of Alfalfa County’s five-year plan, no action was taken due to the improper verbiage on the agenda.

The detention services agreement by and between Sequoyah Enterprises Inc. and Board of County Commissioners of Alfalfa County was approved.

No action was taken on whether to apply for a permit from the State of Oklahoma to rebuild County Road 520 and Logan Road destroyed from the flood in District 1.

Last week, a big topic of discussion was on the software, hardware and computer system for E911 and which vendor to pursue services with. It was decided Monday that AT&T won out for the contract with Alfalfa County.

Declarations of surplus were approved for Treasurer for Auto Fold (invoice C299-100.04, serial number 22667), laser printer (invoice C220-100.41, serial number Q33670000479), internal tape drive (invoice C220-100.34, serial number HU10540Y9X), and auto pentium processor (invoice C220-100.30, serial number 2UB55402BR) and the resolution for their disposal passed as well.

The agenda item of Alfalfa County Local Emergency Planning Committee Bylaws was tabled while the resolution to execute the agreement establishing the Association of County Commissioners of Oklahoma for Self-Insured Group was quickly approved in addition to the intent to participate in ACCO-SIG (property/liability) for FY 2018-2019. Commissioners opted for paying it all in full.

The agreement to proceed for Alfalfa County EMS Helena Station (bid 18-011) with Rick Scott Construction Tulsa LLC was passed through, but the commissioners decided to table the last agenda item, private property access easement for District 1 for SW ¼ of 5-28-12.

No unforeseen business was brought up and the meeting adjourned.
