Cathy Mapes of Alva is a recipient of a $2,000 college scholarship awarded at Vance Air Force Base. Vance AFB is one of over 250 commissaries operated worldwide by the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). Mapes' parents are Jeff and Michelle Mapes. Cathy Mapes plans to attend Oklahoma State University. Her school and community activities include:
