Former deputy given diversion after destroying evidence

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A former Sedgwick County sheriff's deputy who was charged with official misconduct has entered a diversion agreement.

The Wichita Eagle reports Justin Price admitted in a plea agreement that he destroyed evidence three or four times to ensure the outcome he promised suspects in the crimes.

He was a four-year veteran of the department when he was charged in February with official misconduct, a misdemeanor. Price is no longer working with the department.
