Why kill a tradition just to avoid driving around a tree? Ever since I was a little kid, I loved seeing the Christmas tree up in town, because to every kid in Freedom that meant that Christmas was here and Santa Claus was coming to town. I can remember as a kid waiting anxiously to see Gary Bradt and my dad driving Santa to town in a lit-up fire truck, waving to all the kids.
